Math Test Reflection

My score on the pretest was a one, and my score for the post test was a four. These scores show growth because I went from not understanding img_2388how to model and complete most of the problem to knowing how to complete the problem and comparing previous learning targets.

On the pretest it asked me to model operations using integer chips, at that time I didn’t know what integer chips were so I just did the equation without modeling. On the post test when it asked me to model with integer chips I knew what integer chips were and how to use them, and I got all of the right. I learned how to use integer chips!

img_2389During this unit I learned how to multiply, divide, subtract, and add integers. I learned how to use the four operations by learning the rules for adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing positive and negative numbers. After I learned the rules I followed the steps I learned to solve each problem. I studied the rule for each operation carefully using notes from my journal and explain everything, so I would not mix them up or forget how to solve the problem

img_2390The hardest part of this unit for me might have been remembering how to model each operation with integer chips and not get them mixed up. After I studied how to solve each operation with integer chips I got all of the problem involving integer chips right on my test!

This unit I am most proud of learn how to solve integers with the four operations. When I solve problem with integers using the four operations it takes me longer to figure out my answer than I would like. I want to get faster at solving the four operations and integers in a problem.

Lego Robotics

My Creation
I created a Lego robotics crocodile, that could move its mouth up and down and roar. My creation had a mortar attached to the img_2360back of it, and gears so the mortar could spin the gears, and open and close its mouth. The crocodile had a large mouth, and was. built so the blocks could not interfere with any of the gears.

My Code
My code is supposed to turn the motor left opening the mouth, roar, turn the motor right closing its mouth and then wait. I wanted my code to repeat closing, opening and roaring every 7 seconds. I programmed to start using the A key but I decided it img_2363would be better to use the start button. If I programmed my alligator again, I would put a repeat button in front of the A to the end, and I would replace the A with a play button.

REMIX!
If I could change my project, I would work more in my code, because I didn’t have much time to create a code. So I would change my code more, and maybe even create a new, more creative one.

References
I got my ideas from the lego wedo website. In the Lego wedo website there are multiple different designs that you could build. Me and my partner chose the crocodile and we had step by step instructions how to build the Lego robotics crocodile.
